Questions & Answers
Has Danske Bank sold its personal customer loan book to Pepper?
No. Danske Bank has withdrawn from the provision of personal banking services in Ireland. Those accounts that will remain beyond the end of June and July 2014 relate to private residential mortgages, investment housing loans or personal loans; and personal credit cards and/or current accounts that were not repaid prior to the relevant termination date. The Bank has now appointed Pepper to provide day to day customer and administrative services in relation to these accounts. All debts however remain due and owing to Danske Bank and you continue to be responsible to Danske Bank for complying with all of your obligations under your account(s).
When does this change take effect?
Pepper has taken responsibility for the day-to-day servicing of mortgage and/or personal loan accounts from the 16th June 2014. Pepper will similarly take responsibility for providing day-to-day customer and administrative servicing in relation to repayment plans for outstanding balances on credit card and current accounts from Monday 14th of July. Letters have been sent to all relevant customers to advise them of these changes.
Impact on repayments
Do I need to make any change to my direct debit repayment?
The transfer of servicing to Pepper does not affect your direct debit repayment arrangements.
If your repayments were processed through a Danske Bank current account which has now terminated, you should already have completed a new direct debit mandate form.
If you are in the process of switching your current account from Danske Bank to another financial provider, you will need to complete a direct debit mandate form in sufficient time to meet your next repayment. If you are still using your Danske Bank current account to service your mortgage and/or personal loan account(s) please be aware that the termination date for this current account may be approaching, or indeed may have already passed. In order to avoid missing a payment on your mortgage(s) and/or personal loan(s) you must take action by returning a completed direct debit mandate form to Danske Bank before the termination date. The necessary forms are included in the information pack you received from Danske Bank. Alternatively you can download a form from our website.
Please ensure that you allow enough time for your direct debit mandate form to arrive at least 10 working days in advance of your next repayment date. If you do not make alternative repayment arrangements your mortgage and/or personal loan account(s) may go into arrears. This may affect your credit rating which may limit your ability to access credit in the future.
