PSD 2 European Payment Services Directive

Changes to our digital banking channels
(Business eBanking*, the Business Mobile App, and District)
In January 2018, the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) came into force in Ireland. PSD2 aimed to increase competition, enable quicker payments in the European banking market and, above all else, to enhance payment security. Danske Bank in Ireland amended its terms and conditions to reflect the changes brought about by PSD2.
On 14 September 2019, PSD2 will be supplemented by “regulatory technical standards” (RTS).  These RTS will result in some changes within the payments area and in our digital channels that will strengthen the security in relation to payments and the protection of your data. We will implement these changes on our system automatically.  Danske Bank customers do not need to take any action.
